Off to Cabo!

We are going to Cabo in 2 days!  I am so excited to finally get away from the snow and into some sunshine for some much needed quality time together!  Not really a "memorial" for Scarlett, but we will be remembering her of course and taking special pictures (writing her name in the sand, sunsets, etc.)

Birthstone ring

In memory of Scarlett, I got a ring of her birthstone!  I got it at Ben Bridge from my best friend, Aimee.  (P.S we love Ben Bridge, we got our wedding rings there too!)  I LOVE my ring, I have never been someone to wear a lot of jewelry, but this is perfect!

It is not on the right finger... I just cannot hold the camera with my left hand and take a pic!

IRIS Charity Weekend

On the 13th we went to the IRIS benefit for a day to remember Scarlett and help raise money for IRIS.  IRIS raised over $10,000!  We had a pancake breakfast, made a memorial basket for the silent auction, and played 20 rounds of Bingo!  Although we didn't win a single game, we still had a lot of fun and felt really good about contributing to such a great organization.

There was also a quilt someone had made with names of babies who had died and IRIS had been involved in... I got to write Scarlett's name on the quilt!

Here it is!  I only got one picture of it before the guy bandaged it up- I will put more pics up once I get them!

Walk for Babies- Team Scarlett!

Thanks to a friend for the great idea, we decided we are going to do the Walk for Babies in memory of Scarlett!  I am really excited about this!  It is in Mankato on Saturday, April 30th.  If anyone would like to join us, please let me know, it would be great to have lots of team members supporting this cause!

Here we are!

Well, I am starting this blog not because we have such interesting lives, but so we can let family and friends know about special memories we are doing for Scarlett.  I figured maybe some would be interested in what we are doing!

Jon is getting a tattoo tomorrow on his calf of her footprints, initials, and birthday... I think I am more excited than he is!  I will post pictures after so everyone can see what it looks like!

On Feb. 13th, IRIS is having a charity weekend, and everyone is invited to come!  There is a pancake breakfast from 8am to noon, a bake sale from 8am to 3:30, silent auction from 8am to 2pm, and Bingo from 1pm to 3:30pm!  We would love it if anyone would like to come with us, we have plenty of room at our place if anyone needs a place to stay either night too!  We are going to be "regulars" with the IRIS organization now and try our best to attend all events.

I am making a basket for the silent auction in memory of Scarlett, but I have no idea what to put in it!  I am thinking about doing everything red, and it would be really easy right now since all the Valentine's day things are in the stores, but I still have no idea what to do!  I am also going to bake some things for the bake sale... lately how my baking has been turning out, I should probably just buy pre-made things!
